Occlusion is an effect in AR where 3D characters can disappear behind real world objects to add a new level of realism. 6D’s technology layers scan your data locally, and uses that to allow characters to explore spaces in a realistic way.
We worked closely with the augmented reality creative director Anrick Bregman and 3d artist Giuseppe Motta to deliver a new app that gives life to Hieronymus Bosch’s characters from ‘The Garden of Earthly Delights’ into an AR experience.
Turning a ‘600 year old two dimensional character into something that walks and moves and has a personality of its own required the use of famed 3D animator Giuseppe Motta and his team of collaborators.
Wireframing and building these characters from the ground up created questions about the personality of each character which informed its behaviour and movement.

The 6D AR platform allows multiple users to log 3D environments with their smartphones, the scenes get uploaded to the cloud and stored to create more refined scenes and faster load times for the next user.
